As a Senior Animator, you will be responsible for creating high-quality animations that bring characters, creatures, and objects to life in our cinematic action melee, third-person shooter game. You will collaborate closely with the design and art teams to ensure animations align with the game’s vision and enhance the player experience. You will also play a pivotal role in mentoring junior animators, providing feedback, and ensuring the overall animation quality meets industry standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Animator or in a similar role within the gaming industry.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5 (UE5).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality animations, particularly in cinematic action and third-person shooter genres.
- Proficiency in animation software such as Maya, Blender, or similar.
- Solid understanding of rigging, skinning, and animation principles.
- Experience working on AA/AAA game titles.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of high-quality character and creature animations for the game.
- Collaborate with the design team to understand the gameplay mechanics and ensure animations support and enhance these mechanics.
- Work closely with the art team to ensure animations are visually consistent with the game’s artistic style.
- Implement animations in Unreal Engine 5, ensuring they integrate smoothly with gameplay systems.
- Mentor and provide feedback to junior animators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Review and critique animations to ensure they meet the high standards expected of AA/AAA titles.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in animation techniques and technologies.
- Take a stand and challenge design choices when necessary to ensure the best possible player experience.
Will be a plus:
- Experience working with VFX in UE5.
