Requirements:
- Major in Game Development (Level Design, 3D for Games, C++)
- At least 8 years in the game industry with a focus on graphics engineering.
- Strong Communication & Documentation Skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team of technical artists.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine, with experience in shaders, materials, lighting, and visual effects.
- Expertise in 3D software such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of real-time rendering, optimization, and performance profiling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with artists, designers, and engineers.
- Experienced in Art & Graphics Optimization (CPU, GPU, Memory, Drawcalls)
Main task pool:
- Establish best practices for asset creation, optimization, and engine performance.
- Collaborate closely with artists, designers, and engineers to bridge the gap between art and technology, ensuring smooth workflows and asset integration.
- Develop and maintain art pipelines and tools to enhance team productivity and improve the quality of real-time assets.
- Implement shaders, visual effects, and technical art systems in Unreal Engine, ensuring high performance and visual fidelity.
- Optimize assets and environments for performance while maintaining artistic integrity.
- Identify and solve complex technical challenges related to real-time graphics, lighting, and shading.
- Stay current with the latest Unreal Engine features, tools, and industry trends, integrating new techniques into the development process.
- Collaborate with project leads to ensure technical art assets meet the project's artistic vision and technical requirements.
- Plan and manage the technical art team’s workload, ensuring on-time delivery of assets and features
- Schedule tasks and features, monitor day-to-day work and progress, prepare for potential hurdles
- Evaluate the game for framerate, render times, memory usage, and overall performance.
- Develop and implement optimization strategies for performance bottlenecks.
- Document responsibilities to ensure quality, ease of follow-up, self-development, and smooth onboarding of new team members.
Will be a plus:
- Experience with Houdini, Substance Designer, or other procedural content creation tools.
- Knowledge of animation systems and rigging workflows in Unreal Engine.
- Experience in PC or console game development.
- Advanced mathematics or physics knowledge as applied to real-time rendering.
- A degree in Digital Arts & Entertainment
