We’re looking for an experienced Game Art Lead to guide the visual direction of projects from initial proposals to final delivery. In this role, you’ll collaborate with pre-sale teams to craft compelling creative pitches and contribute to project scoping and estimations, while also overseeing production, mentoring artists, ensuring consistent quality, and proactively resolving artistic and workflow challenges. This position blends strategic vision with hands-on leadership across both client-facing and production activities.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in game art, with leadership responsibility on shipped projects
- Strong artistic sensibility and the ability to adapt across genres and visual styles
- Solid understanding of art production workflows and interdependencies
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (art, tech, production, design)
- Confident communicator, capable of presenting and defending creative decisions
- Skilled in task scoping, estimation, and planning
- Experience in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring game artists
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives at once
Nice to have:
- Prior experience in outsourcing or service-based game development
- Familiarity with project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Figma)
- Hands-on experience with game engines or pipeline tools (Unity, Unreal, etc.)
What the role is about:
- Own the visual direction for proposals and ongoing projects – from idea to execution
- Collaborate with presale and production teams to shape strong creative pitches that reflect client goals and artistic feasibility
- Contribute to project scoping, effort estimations, and planning for new proposals
- Oversee the quality, consistency, and timely delivery of art across active projects
- Work closely with PMs, artists, and leads across 2D, 3D, and animation
- Hire, brief, and mentor artists to build strong, project-ready teams
- Ensure alignment with client expectations, technical constraints, and platform guidelines
- Resolve artistic or production-related challenges proactively throughout development
